Everything on this site is 100% handmade using lumber sourced in Canada, built in a workshop out in the countryside away from the distractions of a big city. Theres an art to working with wood and the key is patience. Wood is a living thing full of moisture and after the tree is cut it beings to dry. As it does so any imperfections will relieve themselves in the form of cracks, wraps or splits. To create a finished product of the highest quality requires lumber of the highest grade. To ensure this, I hand pick all the lumber and cut the slabs myself, to ensure I get wood that will resist cracking, warping or splitting. Afterwards, all the lumber is air-dried for a minimum of two years to maximize long-term stability and then kiln-dried to under 10% moisture content. The perfect range for woodworking, allowing for a finish piece that won't crack, won't warp and will last a lifetime.
